It’s common knowledge that the volume and complexity of translated content is rapidly growing. This leads to new challenges for the translation industry and the technology that underpins it. To give a greater understanding of the market, SDL commissioned the Translation Technology Insights Survey – receiving nearly 3,000 responses from language professionals across the world. These findings summarised into 5 key themes which can help focus the efforts of the translation profession, making them stronger and more able to compete in an ever more competitive environment.
This presentation is going to introduce you to these findings and show you where you have technology available to you that has been designed to strengthen and support the core skills that are often expected of the translation professional today.
Speaker: Paul Filkin

He can be regularly seen using social media to provide advice to anyone who needs it, including the new SDL Communities. He also regularly maintains a personal blog addressing many of the practical issues faced by translators and translation companies in using technology for their work.
