Cate Avery FITI
Cate Avery graduated in 1982 and, apart from a period studying for her MA at Dalhousie University in Atlantic Canada, has been a professional translator ever since. After managing a specialist translation company for over a decade, she became a freelance translator in 2000. This business was incorporated in 2006 as Cate Avery Translations Ltd., and through it she works with a small team of freelance translators who share her passion for patent translations. Always interested in training for translators, she has been joint Coordinator of ITI's online course in business practice, the Peer Support Group, since its foundation in 2003.
