Helen Robertson MITI

Helen Robertson graduated in German Language and Literature from St Andrews in 1977 and, following a year as a Lektorin at the Ruhr-University Bochum, took the post-graduate Diploma in Vocational Techniques for Career Linguists at the University of Kent in 1979.

After ten years of employment with a global high-tech company and a top management consultancy in Germany, she returned to the UK in 1989 to study for a Masters in Business Administration at the Manchester Business School, to which she shortly afterwards added the CIM Diploma in Marketing.

She started her own translation company from scratch in 1992. It has been based in York since 1997 and currently employs 6 translators and administrators (including herself).

In addition to being an MITI Helen is also a member of the Dutch sister organisation NGTV and a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Helen is the coordinator of the Yorkshire Translators and Interpreters, chair of the ITI Appeals Panel and a contributor to the ITI bulletin.
