Jane Collis, RLN London
Jane studied a languages degree at the University of Bath, started her career in International Banking, and then
worked in Further Education (FE) for seven years, including three as head of a large languages department.
She left FE to run her own commercial language training company for several years, before returning to lecturing in
languages for the Open University, University of the Arts and London School of Economics.
Jane has an MA in Applied Linguistics, speaks French and German, 'gets by' in Italian and Spanish and wishes she had
more time to learn Portuguese! She has been Regional Language Network London (RLN) Manager for four years.
The RLN programme, whose aim is the promotion of a great national capability in language and cultural skills,
is supported by CILT, the National Centre for Languages. Read about RLN London's work at www.rln-london.com
