Dr Jeremy Munday & Dr Serge Sharoff, University of Leeds
Jeremy Munday is senior lecturer in Spanish studies and translation at the University of Leeds, UK. He has a PhD in the computer-assisted analysis of translated texts and is the author of Introducing Translation Studies (Routledge 2001) and, with Basil Hatim, of Translation: An advanced resource book (Routledge 2004). He is General Editor of publications for the International Association for Translation and Intercultural Studies (IATIS).
Serge Sharoff is lecturer in corpus linguistics and translation studies at the University of Leeds. His PhD was in computational linguistics. Since then he has been working on various topics in automatic natural understanding and generation, corpus development and evaluation, using corpus resources in translation studies. The outcomes of these studies include the Russian Reference Corpus, comparable to the BNC, and Internet-derived corpora for several languages, including among others Japanese, Polish and Portuguese,
