Meet the delegates - Per & Thea Dohler (Northern Germany)

Per + Thea

Anyone can go to London or Oxford – we spent an Oxonian summer ourselves in 2006. But Newcastle is bound to be special, as the other testimonials here have testimonialized.

We are Per and Thea Dohler, a couple from Northern Germany that runs Triacom, which is two things at once – a small translation company specializing in dentistry, medicine and business communications and at the same time a marketing consultancy geared not least to the needs of freelance translators.

We are frequent translator conference visitors – so far 9 in the US, 14 in Sweden and 7 in Germany, some of which we had given a helping hand in organizing. But Newcastle is going to be our first English one. Time to widen our focus and reconnect to England! It has been years since we had our “summer office” in England and Thea became a DipTrans IoL.

And lest there be any complaints about favouritism towards England, we will visit Dùn Èideann (Edinburgh!) after the conference. Our first attempt more than fifteen years ago was laid waste by a snowstorm. In June!

But before that we are looking forward to meeting friends and colleagues whose paths have crossed ours over the years and to learn and enjoy new things and new people.
