Ciao!
My name is Daniela Zambrini. Despite my fully Italian name I am proud to mention that I am 50% Irish.
As a freelance technical translator (IT>EN and EN>IT) I specialise in the aviation industry, in shipping and nautical topics, and in legal texts. I have recently been accepted as Associate Member of the Aerospace and Defence Simplified Technical English Maintenance Group. Although STE started out as an industry-regulated writing standard for aerospace maintenance documentation, the ASD-STE100 Specification has now been successfully adopted by other industries and for a wide range of document types.
Having personally organised the last translator conference I attended, I am really looking forward to enjoying the ITI Conference experience in full (relaxed) delegate mode: this means equal parts of professional development, entertainment, knowledge sharing, and networking!
I decided to travel to Newcastle for the ITI Conference as soon as the preliminary programme was announced: the contents are varied and well-balanced, the speakers are outstanding, and I must say that I also particularly appreciated the opportunity of spreading the cost over three staged payments.
April still seems so far away, but all of a sudden it will only be a matter of weeks and days before we’re all there. Many colleagues I met at past conferences have become special friends: I look forward to seeing them again and to returning home with a whole new collection of smiles, business cards and great memories.
A presto!
Daniela
