Meet the delegates - Andrew Leigh (Sheffield, UK)

Andy imageHello! Salut! ¡Hola! Ciao! Olá!

I’m Andrew and I live in Sheffield, the self-proclaimed greenest city in Europe! I’ve been a translator for 15 years and I work from French, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese into English in the areas of law, business and commerce.

My first ITI conference was in 2013 at Gatwick, where I gave a presentation entitled “Being Contract Smart”. This time I will be going simply to attend the fantastic presentations, learn from our great speakers, catch up with friends old and new and enjoy the atmosphere!

At present, I haven’t made any choices about who I would like to listen to. I would highly recommend doing a little bit of planning around which presentations to attend and also to take advantage of some of the fringe activities that are on offer. This time I will definitely be going to the photo studio (as long as the pic makes me look 10 years younger…) and I can’t wait to be involved again in the Singing Translators!

As an ITI Board member, I have been privy to inside information about the planning of the Conference and can testify to the huge amount of work that goes into the organisation of the Conference, mostly done in their own time by our fantastic team. I would like to express my own personal thanks to each person involved.
